Beyond Technology: Commitment to Community & Humanity

While my professional career is dedicated to leveraging AI for enterprise transformation and sustainable solutions, my passion for making a positive impact extends beyond the corporate world. For many years, I’ve focused my personal time on initiatives aimed at supporting communities and contributing to a more equitable and sustainable future. Initially, I hesitated to share these endeavors publicly, believing this work spoke for itself. However, through my Executive MBA program, I realized that sharing these commitments can inspire others, attract collaborators, and ultimately amplify the positive impact we can collectively create. Therefore, I am now sharing a selection of personal projects I have been involved in over the past few years, driven by a deep belief in giving back and leveraging my skills for the welfare of humanity.

  • 2022 – 2024: AI for Charity Forecasting (Charity Zeal): Developed an AI model and launched Charity Zeal, a project dedicated to providing overhead cost forecasting and resource management tools for 93 local Canadian charities. This initiative aims to empower small charities with data-driven insights to enhance their operational efficiency and maximize their community impact.
  • 2023: Supporting Refugees and Displaced Communities (Alight): Volunteered at Alight, contributing to their reporting and analytics strategy. Alight provides comprehensive support to refugees and displaced communities, from initial assistance to long-term stability. My involvement focused on enhancing their data-driven decision-making to better serve those in need.
  • 2023: Building Shelter & Water Pumps (South Asia): Collaborated with local charities and volunteers to build a homeless shelter and establish 12 clean water pumps in rural South Asia. This project directly addresses critical needs for housing and access to safe water in underserved communities, leveraging collaboration across engineering and business management backgrounds.
  • 2022: Website Strategy for Food Security (Blessings in a Backpack): Volunteered at Blessings in a Backpack, providing strategic recommendations for their website to enhance marketing efforts. This organization mobilizes communities to provide weekend meals for school children facing food insecurity across America.
  • 2022 – Ongoing: Tree Planting for Deforestation: Committed to fighting deforestation through ongoing tree planting initiatives. To date, over 900 trees have been planted in South Africa and Asia, contributing to environmental restoration and combating climate change.
  • 2022: Clean Water Support (Charity Water): Began supporting Charity Water, contributing to their diverse projects focused on providing access to clean and safe water in communities around the world. This reflects a commitment to addressing fundamental needs for health and well-being.
  • 2021: Digital Literacy for Seniors (Adult Learning Centre Halton): Volunteered at Adult Learning Centre Halton, assisting senior citizens in developing introductory computer skills for employment and further education. This initiative empowers seniors with essential digital literacy, bridging the digital divide and promoting lifelong learning.
  • 2019: Community Support for Women in Need (YWCA Toronto): Volunteered at YWCA Toronto, providing practical support through building cleaning and room preparation at their facilities for women and their dependents experiencing homelessness or fleeing violence. This hands-on work directly contributed to creating a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable individuals.

These projects represent just a portion of my ongoing commitment to leveraging my time and skills for the benefit of others. I am always seeking opportunities to expand this work and collaborate with individuals and organizations who share this vision. If you are inspired by these initiatives or have ideas for collaboration, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
